You Can Make a Difference

As all of our operating and construction expenditures come from the generosity of those in our community, as well as from the mortgages paid by our partner families, we rely on you to help us in our mission to provide safe, affordable, decent housing for the area's needy. The average cost of building a Habitat house in New Jersey is about $70,000. Our overhead is small but all the money we raise goes right into building projects. Please consider mailing a tax-deductible donation. Read below to find out how you can help.

"Habitat for Humanity International has received its second four-star rating for financial soundness from Charity Navigator, an independent evaluator of philanthropic organizations. Only 18 percent of the charities evaluated have received two consecutive 4-star ratings."

Cars for Homes Vehicle Donation Program

There are families in your community who are living in substandard conditions and simply need a hand up, not a hand out. Habitat for Humanity is providing that hand up and you can help! Habitat's Cars for Homes™ program uses your vehicle donation to help build decent, affordable homes in partnership with low income families. Click here to learn more how donating your car can help, and may even earn you a tax deduction. (Speak with your tax advisor)

  • Tax Liens
  • Major Subdivision of undeveloped land
  • Redevelopment area land
  • Government lands
  • Abandoned or neglected property.
  • Please contact Anthonly Infosino if you can help us find suitable property

Keep Your Love Alive

One of the most powerful ways you can help our affiliate is by remembering us in your will. What better way to tell your loved ones you really cared about the joy that came from helping others through your work with our organization. It isn't something to be taken lightly nor something most of us want to think about. But once you make the decision, you may find it to give a feeling of satisfaction like few other things. Speak with a financial advisor or attorney regarding establishing foundations, annual gifts or annuities to maintain your legacy long after your physical contributions have ended.

Can My Small Contribution Really Make a Difference?

Absolutely! While we certainly encourage large donations, you should know that even small donations can make a huge difference when it comes to a family's home. Here's what your contributions may fund:

$15 one floor joist
$43 one 50-lb box of nails
$50 one roof truss
$109 5 gallons of paint
$65 one interior door
$52 8 sheets of wallboard
$120 2 boxes of flooring materials
$122 5 bundles of roof shingles

(These items and dollar amounts are representative of, but not limited to, what your contribution might purchase, actual costs vary.)

Does Habitat Accept Non-Monetary donations?

Sure! We've worked before with donors interested in contributing new or unused tiles, shingles, appliances, doors and more. We've also accepted appreciated property as donations, so if you would like to donate, please contact us. As stated above, nearly all of your donations will directly fund a family's dream. What is the price of that?

Fundraising Efforts

Our affiliate sponsors several annual fundraising events. Click here to learn more.

How does Habitat fund operations? As the Millstone Basin Area affiliate is run nearly entirely by unpaid volunteers, we depend on the generosity of our community to help achieve our goals. Click here to read about how your donations are helping our area's families.

Don't have construction skills? That's OK! Many of our volunteers first learned to swing a hammer working on one of our houses. If the construction of a home isn't something that appeals to you, you can help in many other ways, including helping to organize fundraisers in your company or community, volunteering your time with the organization, or others. Click here to see how you can get involved.
