Our First Project: The Turner Home
Work began in January 1992 on Project 1, the rehabilitation of a vacant, fire-damaged two-family home on Rte. 130 in Washington Twp. The Turners, the affiliate's first partner family, move into one side of the newly renovated home, with everyone celebrating the event with a home-dedication ceremony. Work immediately begins on the other side of the home to make it available for rent to a selected family awaiting permanent housing.
