What is Habitat?

The Millstone Basin Affiliate serves the New Jersey communities of Cranbury, East Windsor, Hightstown, Plainsboro, Robbinsville
Twp. and West Windsor as an independent unit of Habitat for Humanity International.

Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian ministry dedicated to eliminating substandard housing and homelessness worldwide and to making adequate, affordable shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat is founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, decent, affordable place to live in dignity and safety. Habitat has an open-door policy: all who desire to be a part of this work are welcome, regardless of religion, race, color or creed.

Habitat Remembers - A Great Founder & Leader is never forgotten!

Millard Fuller 1935-2009

Earlier this winter, Habitat lost its founder and long-time inspirational leader. His own quote captures the reasons for his great contributions. "I see life as both a gift and a responsibility. My responsibility is to use what God has given me to help his people in need."

We add our condolences to Millard's family and we remember him, along with all those whose lives Millard affected.

Youth United Rocks

Our affiliate has a strong relationship with Youth United, a Habitat for Humanity Youth program that brings community youth ages 5-25 together to raise funds, sponsor and build homes with a local family. The youth are the leaders, planners, fund raisers, public relations specialists and builders. They work together to raise money and awareness, while youth ages 16-25 build the house on site under the close supervision of our construction leaders. Most importantly, through this program youth help fulfill a family's dream of having their own home and learn valuable leadership skills. It is the adventure of a lifetime! Click here to see how Youth United helped one of our partner families to realize their dreams. You can also click here to learn more about Youth United and how you can help.
